Within a 50-meter perimeter around populated areas or any isolated building, the land must be kept perfectly clear of vegetation and with the tree cover thinned, as established in Article 21 of Law 3/2007 on the prevention and defense against forest fires in Galicia.

PLOTS MUST BE CLEARED BEFORE MAY 31.

The following species are not permitted within the 50-meter buffer zone:

Owners of properties that are not kept clear as required by law will be held liable, both civilly and criminally, for any damages that may be caused to persons or property resulting from fires caused by neglect of their plots, without prejudice to any penalties that may be imposed in accordance with current legislation.
